Profile Management

Named profiles allow you to seamlessly switch between different environments (e.g. local, staging, production) and authentication credentials.


1. List Profiles (profile list)​

List all stored profiles and highlight the active default:

liorans3 profile list

Example Output​

staging https://staging-s3.example.com User (developer)

2. Inspect a Profile (profile show)​

Display profile configuration parameters with sensitive passwords and secret keys masked:

liorans3 profile show production

3. Create a Profile (profile create)​

Create a new profile with custom connection and credential parameters:

# Create staging profile with basic authentication
liorans3 profile create staging \
--endpoint https://staging-s3.example.com \
--username developer \
-P "StagePass123!"

# Create production profile with programmatic access key and set as default
liorans3 profile create production \
--endpoint https://s3.example.com \
--access-key bk_live_0192a7b8c9d0 \
--secret-key sk_live_9f83a21b4c7e6d5a \
--default

4. Switch Active Profile (profile use)​

Set the default profile used for all subsequent commands:

liorans3 profile use production

Output:

Active profile set to 'production'.

5. Rename a Profile (profile rename)​

liorans3 profile rename staging pre-prod

Output:

Profile 'staging' renamed to 'pre-prod'.

6. Delete a Profile (profile delete)​

liorans3 profile delete pre-prod

Output:

Profile 'pre-prod' deleted.
